The V50 ballistic resistance limit of HP31001 according to its certification, at caliber 7.62x51mm M80 NATO BALL, is at least 1.036 m/s making it the safest choice in its category (level III++ ICW IIIA).

Boron Carbide provides the highest protection at the lightest weight but is expensive. Polyethylene and Aramid are lightweight but have limitations against AP or penetrator rounds.
